Privacy Policy

STOP MIGRAINE is a brand of Riverton Ventures Inc. ("STOP MIGRAINE", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from trystopmigraine.com (the "Site"), communicate with us, or otherwise use our services (together, the "Services").

Personal information we collect

  • Information you give us: name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, order details, and the content of messages you send to us or to our Care Team. Payment card details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored by us.
  • Information collected automatically: device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and how you interact with the Site, collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
  • Information from third parties: our e-commerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, shipping carriers, and advertising and analytics partners may provide us with information about you, such as order, delivery or campaign information.

We do not ask you for medical records. If you choose to share health information with our Care Team (for example, about your migraines), we use it only to answer you and handle your request.

How we use your personal information

  • To process and deliver your orders, manage your Care Plan, process payments, returns and refunds, and send order and shipping updates.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • To send you marketing communications by email or text message, only with your consent (see below).
  • To show you relevant advertising and measure the effectiveness of our ads.
  • To understand how the Site is used, improve it, and keep it secure, including detecting and preventing fraud.
  • To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Cookies and the Meta Pixel

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Site (for example, to remember your cart), to understand how the Site is used, and for advertising. We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API, which allow Meta Platforms, Inc. to collect information about your activity on our Site (such as pages viewed and purchases) in order to measure our ads and show you more relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta's use of that information is governed by its own privacy policy. Shopify also sets cookies to operate the store; see Shopify's cookie policy.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings, and opt out of the sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising as described in "Your privacy rights" below. Blocking cookies may affect how the Site works.

Email and SMS marketing

  • Email: we send marketing emails only if you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Text messages (SMS): we send marketing text messages only if you give your express consent, for example by checking a box or entering your number in a sign-up form. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you transactional messages about your orders or your Care Plan.

How we disclose personal information

  • Service providers that help us run our business, such as Shopify (e-commerce platform), payment processors, fulfillment and shipping providers, email and SMS providers, customer support tools, and analytics providers.
  • Advertising partners, such as Meta, through cookies and pixels as described above. Under some state laws, this may be considered "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or a "sale".
  • Legal and business reasons: to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including if you are a California resident under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

  • Know / access the personal information we have collected about you, including the categories of information, sources, purposes and the categories of third parties we disclose it to;
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising — you can do this on our Your Privacy Choices page, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals;
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable;
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise your rights, email us at hello@trystopmigraine.com or call (225) 531-8235. We will need to verify your identity before responding, for example by confirming information linked to your orders. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of the agent's authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond to your appeal as required by applicable law.

Categories of personal information we have collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (name, email, phone, address, IP address); commercial information (orders, Care Plan); internet or network activity (browsing on the Site); approximate geolocation derived from IP address; and inferences used for advertising. These are collected for the purposes and disclosed to the categories of recipients described above.

Children's data

The Services are not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep your personal information as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
